| Prince
George's County Courthouse — Upper Marlboro, MD

In November
of 2004, a fire struck the historic Prince George’s
County Courthouse destroying nearly the entire second and
third floors, causing damage throughout the building. At the
time of the fire, the county was nearing completion on a $25
million renovation of the courthouse. Held Enloe & Associates
was retained to perform an independent evaluation of the damage
and to report the findings in an expert’s report for
a pending mediation. Through detailed analysis of the scope
of the original building’s damage attributable to the
fire loss, the pricing for this work, and the schedule for
reconstruction, Held Enloe & Associates identified major
discrepancies in the scope and pricing submitted under the
claim.
